Professional Tactical Rescue Forces need a Stable and Compact Stretcher

The Austrian company Outer Limits received a sample of the Easy Rescue Buddy Tactical Stretcher for testing purposes.  Under the strict evaluation of the Training Academy for Safety in Waldmunchen (AASW) the unit was tested by professionals.  The Buddy system from Israel, first exhibited at ISDEF 2010, is a folded stretcher weighing 900 grams. The Buddy is housed in a small, convenient pocket size pack, that fits in backpacks and military vests.  When packed the dimensions are: 22 x 17 x 11 cm.  This is how it works: After rolling out the Buddy, the injured party is placed in a sitting position and then lifted by only two people using shoulder straps in order to be removed quickly from a “hot zone.” Due to the handsfree capability, after the injured is raised, rescuers can use either a long or short weapon.  Due to the design, balance can be maintained and the stretcher can be used in confined places.  By using this equipment, the injured can be transported quickly while reducing the overall weight in the hands of the rescuers.  Note that this is not suitable for spinal injuries and only for immediate measures taken by combat medics and tactical first aid personnel.  The design and capabilities make the device particularly useful for almost all cases, and it is an easily folded and versatile rescue stretcher that can be carried easily.  Use of the Buddy enables initial tactical first responders to not only carry out critical first aid but also to rescue the injured quickly which can help in their recovery.  Due to the compact size and relatively low purchase price, the Buddy will prove extremely useful.
